How does Mylib membership work and what is the fees structure?

• MyLib is a membership based book lending library where, as a member, there are no additional reading charges per book. The membership fee is based on 2 factors - number of books that you would like to rent at a time and the duration for which you would like to take the membership.
  • Based on your reading habit and the number of readers at your home, you can chose to rent 1, 2, 3 or 4 books at a time.
  • You can become a member for 3 months, 6 months or 12 months
  
  Once you become the member, you can rent and return the books as many times as you would wish to. You can also keep the books for as long as your membership is valid without paying any charges. If you wish to get the book home delivered, there may be additional charges depending upon your plan. For more information on the fees, please click here

How to get books home delivered through the website?

• Step1 - Prepare 'Wishlist': As the name suggest, the wishlist can be used to store and quickly access the status of books that you want to read in the near future. You can add as many as 20 books in your wishlist using button Add to Wishlist ››
• Step2 - Select and Rent: When you are ready to read next set of books, simply select available books in your wishlist and place order. Select home delivery option and confirm order.
• Step3 - Receive and return: Receive and return: Within the next 24 - 48 hours, our delivery executive would deliver the books to your doorstep. Please return the books that you hold to the same person.

What is Cash/Cheque on Delivery (COD)?

• Cash/Cheque on Delivery (COD) is a safe payment option to customers applying online.
• Using COD payment option, you pay at the time of the actual delivery of first set of books , rather than paying in advance.
• Please make FULL payment ONLY by Cash or Cheque at the time of delivery. Outstation Cheques will not be entertained.
• In short, cash/chqeue payment is made only at the time of first delivery, to our Courier agent
• You can also use COD option to renew membership or Charge prepaid home delivery account

How much are the Home Delivery charges? How does the prepaid home delivery account work?

• For the "All Inclusive Plans" , there is NO additional delivery charges.
  For "Customize Your Plan" : To make sure that Mylib is able to give Value for Money to all its customers who can either visit the library or have home delivery or both, we have separated out the cost of delivery from the membership plan. Those who wish to take home delivery can pay up per delivery thus having the flexibility to choose their mode of renting. There are two options to pay the delivery charges
• You can pay Rs 20 /- per delivery attempt irrespective of number of books delivered or picked up. For example if you are returning 2 books and getting delivered 2 books, you will be charged Rs 20/- . Please pay the same to our delivery executive
• To avoid the hassle of paying on every return and delivery of the book, you can also open a Prepaid Home Delivery Account by paying Rs 100 (for 6 deliveries) or Rs 250 (for 15 deliveries). The book delivery charges you incur will be deducted from this account. This amount can be paid to our delivery executive or at the store

Can I reserve Books online and pick up from the library instead of home delivery?

• Absolutely. Follow the same steps as explained above, but instead of home delivery option chose 'Pick up from Library' option

Can Mylib notify me of a book's availability, in case the book is in Circulation?

• When a book you are interested in reading is in circulation, you can enter Queue by clicking
  Notify When Available ›› You will be able to track your queue number online and will be notified when the book is available. You can waitlist maximum of 5 books
  • If your queue number is 1, it means you are the first person in the queue. Waitlist number 2 means, you are second in the queue and so on..
  • When the book is available for rent, we will send an email notification to you. You will be given 2 business days to rent it, post which the book will be released.
  • If you are ready to read the book, please order it online to be home delivered or pick it up from the library within the 2 business days
  • If you are not ready to read the book, please click "Remove"

What can I do if Mylib does not have the book that I would like to read ?

• In your account page, you can go to "Request a Book" and provide the details of the books that you would like to read. Mylib reviews all requests regularly and buys books based on the demand from our customers or based on reviews externally. This is one of our foremost channels to decide on the next set of books to be acquired. So, please feel free to use this facility as much as you would like to.
