Abstract

The advent of cloud-based applications has ushered in transformative changes in the technology sector, providing remote access to services and data via the Internet. These applications have revolutionized business operations and individual Internet activities. This paper explores the impact of pricing and packaging strategies on the adoption and success of cloud-based applications. The paper focuses on two primary pricing strategies: tiered pricing models and usage-based pricing. The former involves categorizing pricing based on feature levels and customer segments, offering flexibility, scalability, and value-based differentiation. However, complexity and pricing perception challenges can arise. Usage-based pricing, on the other hand, charges users based on resource consumption, promoting cost efficiency and transparency. Challenges include budget uncertainty and behavior monitoring. The paper also delves into packaging strategies, highlighting bundling and packaging approaches, such as vertical and horizontal bundling. Factors influencing adoption and success are examined, including cost sensitivity, competitive landscape awareness, and flexibility. The study concludes that pricing and packaging strategies play a pivotal role in shaping the trajectory of cloud-based application adoption and success, with implications for business operations and technological advancements.
