Abstract

Cyberattacks are digital threats targeted at specific infrastructure that includes networks, software, data, or hardware with the intent of causing damage or misinformation. The purpose of this study is twofold. The purpose of this study is to investigate the status of security awareness among Saudi university employees, specifically at Taif University. A survey was used to investigate the status of security awareness among the Saudi university employees via questionnaires. In the study, a total of 93 respondents answered the questionnaires. Employees were asked a mixture of questions on different types of password security, their awareness levels of security against social network platforms, and browser security. For the first results, descriptive analysis was carried out using SPSS for graphical design. According to the first findings, the employee has some fundamental understanding of cybersecurity in the area of password security, although awareness is only modest in other areas like self-defense and internet addiction.
