Abstract

The energy need is sky-rocketing in our day to day life and its activities, so it is an urgent need for alternative path for sources of renewable energy. Renewable energy sources include sun, water and wind energy etc. The research work main area of interest is only on the hydro energy which uses the Gravitational vortex hydro-turbine. The principle of this turbine was the conversion of centrifugal head of vortex into shaft power. It can able to produce electricity from the water energy sources. In this prototype model, the forced river water low a circular bowl incidentally in a gravitational vortex power plant resulting in a production of energy from the free vortex using a turbine. This system have ability to produce electricity at very low hydraulic head and economical. Also this technique is environs friendly &socially feasible. The designed vortex turbine model is considered as a new emerging method for producing electricity in a simple method for rural application.
