EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION OF TEXTILE DYEING WASTEWATER TREATMENT BY ELECTROCOAGULATION AND ADVANCED OXIDATION PROCESS
Keywords:

To investigate the effectiveness of advanced treatment methods such as Electro coagulation (EC) and Advanced oxidation process (AOP) in order to minimize thecolour, chemical oxygen demand (COD) and biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) concentration in textile dyeing wastewater. Experiments carried out at lab scale model. The EC process was conducted by varying voltages such as 8V, 10V, 12V, 14V, 16V and for duration of 60mins each. AOP involves oxidation of wastewater using Fenton’s reagent (Fe2+/ H2O2). The experiment was conducted at three different dosages such as 3gms + 30ml, 4gms + 40 ml and 5gms + 50ml of Fe2+ and H2O2.From the results obtained, the removal efficiency was determined by comparing the parameters such as COD, BOD and colourof treated and untreated wastewater. The obtained results from the treatments were in accordance with the standards given by Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) of India for textile wastewater discharge.
